LIONEL MESSI has the inside scoop on Neymar’s move to Real Madrid – and believes it’s not as close as many think.
Messi and Neymar have remained friends despite the Brazil star’s Barcelona exit in the summer.
They still talk regularly and Don Balon claim Neymar has told him he’s happy in France.
And Messi believes Neymar will spend at least one more year at PSG before potentially making the controversial move to Real Madrid.
Messi understands Neymar has not ruled out the move but is sure it won’t happen this summer
Neymar was linked to Madrid almost as soon as he touched down in France in a world record £200m deal.
His start has been eventful with a fallout with Edinson Cavani and his manager Unai Emery.
But on the pitch he’s been brilliant with 11 goals in 14 Ligue 1 games and six in six in the Champions League.
He’s hoping to send Real Madrid out of the Champions League next month when they go head-to-head in the second round.
But Florentino Perez is a big admirer and wants him to be his new superstar – eventually taking over from Cristiano Ronaldo as the team’s leader.
Madrid are set to undergo a big overhaul in the summer with the futures of Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema and Ronaldo all uncertain beyond the summer.
Barcelona meanwhile have splashed some of the cash they took in for Neymar this with the purchase of Philippe Coutinho for £142m.
They signed Ousmane Dembele in the summer but missed out on top target Coutinho, but have now managed to bring him to Spain.
